An operating system (or "OS") is the program that we use on a computer to manage all other programs in the computer. Whenever you use your computer to do almost anything -- that is the operating system. Each operating system contains a graphical user interface (or "GUI") to make the computer a more satisfying experience. Each operating system is built differently and has evolved over time to be more secure and offer more features to the user.
In this tutorial we will explore some of the most common operating systems and some of their unique features in addition to some standard features.
